Following on from the successful completion of over 10,000m2 of Superflat / DIN15185 works in 2012, CoGri completed another VNA floor construction in Thailand, this time to meet Category 1 tolerance in accordance with the UK Concrete Society Technical Report 34 (TR34).
Our client for this project is a major envelope manufacturer and distributor who have been in operation for over 40 years. Realising the importance of quality, this company approached CoGri in late 2012 to discuss their flooring requirement within their new warehouse in Samut Sakhon, approximately 40 miles South West of the capital city, Bangkok.
The floor itself is a defined movement floor with 5 separate very narrow aisles (VNA) and a racking top beam height of around 10.5m, meaning a Category 1 tolerance floor would be fit for purpose. The client had selected a Jungheinrich EKX-515K truck for this facility with a proposed wire guidance control system. After careful consideration of the site conditions and end user requirements, CoGri proposed to construct a 100mm thick topping slab floor system (TP-FS) with localised reinforcement adjustments to eliminate potential wire guidance interference.
Some of the key detail features of the CoGri finished floor were angled construction joints to minimise damage caused by truck impact, and full mechanical bonding between the base slab and the topping slab to eliminate the risk of slab curling and future maintenance issues.
Work completed in late February. The VNA areas of the floor were tested using the FACE All-in-One Profileograph and showed the floor to be fully compliant with Category 1 specification.
