CoGri Asia Pacific recently completed the first-phase of construction in a ‘Cast-and-Grind’ Defined Movement floor at a new warehouse building in Tuas Biomedical Park, Singapore, for a world leading pharmaceutical, chemical and life sciences company.
CoGri have worked for this company many times over the last decade constructing similar high-tolerance floors in their Biotech and Tablet Warehouses at this same facility.
The work was split into two mobilisations to meet the client’s tight schedule and to accommodate a last minute change from free movement to defined movement tolerances; showcasing CoGri’s versatility and the range of construction techniques we can provide to clients. The initial casting phase involved the casting of a 75mm thick bonded topping slab, over the whole 1000sqm to comply with the UK Concrete Society’s TR-34 (Third Edition) Table 4.2 Free Movement Specifications FM2 Special.
Following completion of the mechanical and electrical fit-out and the installation of racking in February, CoGri will remobilise and carry out Laser Grinding of the five 30m aisles to bring them up to the DM Superflat specification as defined in TR34 (Third Edition).
CoGri has already completed the casting and will finish the grinding work in March.
