The Logistics Magazine in China Interviewed Jason Blackmore, Representative Manager (North Asia) of CoGri:
Reporter: Please give us an introduction of CoGri Group and CoGri China.
Jason Blackmore: The CoGri Group (cogrigroup.com) is a consortium of international warehouse and industrial floor solution specialists with over 25 years global experience in the design, construction, upgrading of industrial concrete floors and are regarded as leaders and experts in our field.
The CoGri Group started life in 1989 as Concrete Grinding Ltd (www.concrete-grinding.com) – a small company providing remedial floor grinding solutions for upgrading VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) Warehouse Floor Flatness. As the demand for our services grew, we needed to find a cleaner, more efficient method of grinding in an operational warehouse environment. There was no suitable equipment available to hire or buy, so we decided to design and build our own.
The early prototype machine gradually developed into the unique world-leading Laser Grinder ® technology that we have at our disposal today. We have now built 15 Laser Grinders ®, operating globally, and based at our main offices in the UK, Mainland Europe, Singapore, Korea, China, Middle East and Australia.
In 1993 the first Laser Grinding project was completed in Asia at Singapore. Subsequently CoGri Asia Pacific (www.cogriasia.com) was incorporated in Singapore in 1994 and CoGri began promoting High Quality Concrete Flooring Solutions for Logistics Facilities throughout Asia Pacific. As understanding of the importance of the Warehouse Floor improved in the Logistics Industry in Asia, CoGri started to offer Floor Construction Services in Asia and in the Year 2000 constructed the first Certified Superflat Floor in Singapore.
Today in addition the Offices and Partners throughout Europe, the CoGri Group has Group Companies in Australia, Middle East at Dubai and South Africa in addition to its Companies in Singapore, China, South Korea, Malaysia and Thailand. With more than 100 Staff Globally and the most hi-tech Specialist Equipment available in all corners of the Globe the CoGri Group continues to Innovate the Concrete Flooring Industry in Asia.
Reporter: It is known that CoGri China was founded in Shanghai in 2011, serving for china logistics industry since then. Why did CoGri enter the Chinese market, and why in 2011?
Jason Blackmore: In fact CoGri Asia Pacific (the parent company of CoGri China) based in Singapore has been involved in the Construction and Upgrading of Warehouse floors in China since 1998 working out of its Singapore office in collaboration with partner companies in China. Previously Concrete Flooring Projects were completed in China for Global Clients such as Intel, Nokia and Avon.
CoGri’s big break in China came in 2010 when it was awarded a contract for the Construction of a 55,000m2 Steel Fibre only Reinforced Pile Supported Slab (a first in China) at a Distribution Centre for one of the world’s largest Retailers near Shanghai. Following the successful completion of this Project, in order to serve a rapidly developing Logistics Industry in China, CoGri China was finally incorporated in 2011.
