CoGri Middle East has completed Laser Grinding work for a mineral water company, based in the UAE. The existing facility comprises of several sizeable warehouses, the largest of which was originally built for block stacking.
The client decided to put VNA racking in this facility and so the floor became an issue. Initial Profileograph surveys showed that the floor did not meet with DM1 (floor flatness specification for racking with a top beam of over 13m). The racking in the facility will reach an approximate height of 15m to top pallet.
Furthermore, each narrow aisle had 3 expansion joints across it where all 3 joints had no effective load transference. CoGri Middle East’s scope of works to the client was to repair 33 joints at 2m long each, install 4 CoGri Stabiliser units per joint (132 units in total) and Laser Grind the whole aisle width over 1,100m of aisle. Profileograph surveys were carried out before and after Grinding.
Once all of this was completed, the forklift truck supplier, SPAN appointed CoGri M.E. to install the guidance wire for the trucks to follow within the aisles. This was achieved within a week and the warehouse is now operational.
