CoGri Malaysia’s most recent project with key regional partner Pan Asia Logistics was for the new BMW Group Parts Distribution Centre located in Senai, Malaysia.
The premises are located in a 25 acre plot of land within the Free Industrial Zone of Senai International Airport, and is a state of the art logistics warehouse, supporting over 22 countries in the region.
CoGri Malaysia’s brief was to construct a 45,000 m2 steel fibre reinforced slab on piles to FM2 tolerances as per TR34 (4th Edition). CoGri were involved in the project from its inception allowing us to create value for the client by providing a cost effective and high performing design & build solution in conjunction with Face Consultants in the UK.
The project proved to be a real challenge for the team – battling hot weather and an extremely tight schedule –the entire 45,000 m2 was cast in just five weeks. In order to deliver on the tight program, the team cast two bays a day, in a morning and a night shift. On some of the larger casting days the Somero S240 Laser Screed was operating for nearly 24 hours straight.
Previous CoGri Group projects with Pan Asia Logistics include a 16,000 m2 warehouse for Benz Korea constructed in 2014 and with end user CCM Industrial Singapore constructing a 3,000 m2 warehouse back in 2013.
