CoGri Asia Pacific Pte Ltd has mobilised to Thailand to begin construction of a 12,000m2 VNA floor. This new facility forms part of the client’s plan to consolidate their position as the national leader in ceramic and home décor goods supplier.
CoGri have once again partnered with Fast Flow (Thailand) Co. Ltd to complete this project, having worked together on successful projects in 2009 and 2011. This combination of global flooring expertise and local market knowledge ensure ‘peace of mind’ for the client that they will receive the quality flooring that their state of the art facility requires.
The project involves construction of 15 very narrow aisles each with a length in excess of 150m and a racking height of approximately 15m. The slab is a 350mm thick traditionally reinforced slab on piles, with the majority of the reinforcement pre-fabricated before arriving at the site. By pre-fabricating in advance a lot of manpower and construction time is saved as the requirement for tying steel together is reduced by simply lifting the reinforcement into position a section at a time.
A pre formed channel within the reinforcement runs central to each aisle allowing the Material Handling Equipment (MHE) truck wire guidance system to be installed without the worry of electromagnetic interference from the surrounding steel.
CoGri Quality Assurance
Construction is expected to last until early October 2012, after which racking installation and MHE truck commissioning will commence. Compliance testing of the floor is being completed progressively during construction as part of the CoGri Quality Assurance procedure. Results so far indicate the floor exceeding the DIN15185 specification as required by the MHE supplier, and in fact achieving the much stricter TR34 ‘Superflat’ tolerances, making this possibly the flattest VNA floor constructed in Thailand to date.
